Yellow apricot blossom opens out when spring comes and is therefore a sign of the start of a new lunar year.  The flower symbolises good luck, happiness and prosperity, whilst its colour signifies luxury and wealth. 

For these reasons, over recent days many local residents have been buying the flowering apricot trees to decorate their homes during the Tet Festival.
