On Thursday (the 4th day of the 1st lunar month), Da Nang’s Tho Quang fishing wharf was bustling and busy as many fishing boats made preparations for their first offshore trips of the 2016 Lunar New Year in the hope of post-Tet bumper catches.

Each of the fishing boats was preparing with between 3,750 and 7,500 kilos of ice, and from 1,500 to 2,000 litres of fuel ready for its 10 to 12-day trip into the Hoang Sa or Tonkin Gulf waters.

DA NANG Today would like to share with our readers some photos, taken by reporter Ngoc Phu, which reflected the busy atmosphere at the wharf.
