Co Tu Cultural Festive Day
Yesterday, the 2nd Co Tu Cultural Festive Day took place at the Museum of Da Nang.
The one-day event aimed to honour the cultural values of the Co Tu people, as well as to preserve and promote their culture. It was attended by a many members of this ethnic group from Da Nang’s Hoa Phu Commune, and from the provinces of Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Nam.
Visitors were treated to fascinating performances by the minority ethnic people in the form of traditional dancing and singing, plus performances of their special musical instruments. In addition, the group’s traditional costumes, beliefs, and festivals, along with their traditional crafts like brocade and rattan weaving, ‘ruou can’ (drinking rice wine out of a jar through pipes), agricultural products and cuisine were also introduced at the event.
