Tra Phong is a mountainous commune in Tra Bong District, Quang Ngai Province, housing many ethnic minority groups, of which the Cor is the largest and has diverse and unique cultural identities. The Cor people live mainly in valleys upstream the Tra Bong, Rin and Tranh rivers in the Tra Bong and Tay Tra districts. They mainly cultivate rice, maize, cassava and many other crops, including cinnamon, the specialty has been recognised as one of the specialty gifts of Asia by the Asia Record’s Organisation (ARO). The Cor people like dancing combining the sound of gongs and drums, with the howling of performers.
Let’s take a closer look at some amazing photos, taken by our reporter Son Ha Doan, to explore the wonderful landscape features of this mountainous Cor Village.
