Supporting farmers to launch sales of agricultural products amid COVID-19

Over recent days, the Da Nang Women's Union at all levels has partnered with the Hoa Vang District chapter of the municipal Youth Union to assist local farmers in harvesting and selling agricultural products to local residents citywide amid the in-force ‘stay-at-home’ period.

Chairman of the Hoa Vang District chapter of the municipal Women's Union Le Huyen Tram said that many agricultural products and foods such as mushrooms, watermelons, vegetables and quail eggs are in the harvest whereas farmers are facing difficulties in in seeking consumption channels amid this tough time.

After 5 days of supportive move, staffers from the Hoa Vang District chapter of the municipal Women's Union have helped farmers conduct the sales of 5 tonnes of root, tuber and leaf vegetables, 800kg of quail eggs, 10 tonnes of watermelon and 580kg of mushrooms.

It is worth praising that local Youth Union members have also given a helping hand to this supportive deed.

In recent days, the Youth Union chapter of Yen Ne 1 Village, Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District have joined in the harvest and transport of locally-grown green produce to consumption sites across the city.
Secretary of the Youth Union chapter of Yen Ne 1 Village, Mr Nguyen Tan Vien, said: Whenever local residents order vegetables, we are ready to connect with farmers and deliver them to their homes’ doorsteps in a prompt fashion.

This initiative makes buyers feel secure about the good quality of vegetables and support farmers to maintain their livelihoods on farming amid the complicated coronavirus resurgence.
