Within the framework of the on-going Hai Chau Village Communal House Festival 2022 on April 8 and 9, the ‘Chanh Te’ ceremony, comprising an incense offering ceremony in commemoration of national heroes and ancestors, along with a ceremony to release balloons and pigeons for peace and safety throughout the year, were held at the Hai Chau Village Communal House on Saturday morning.

‘Chanh Te’ was the biggest traditional ritual at the annual Hai Chau Village Communal House Festival. The ritual practice provided an opportunity for government officials and people of Hai Chau District to show respect and gratitude to the blessed gods and predecessors, as well as to pray for peace and prosperity throughout the year.
This year’s festival is being held on April 8 and 9. It aims to improve the quality of the organisation of some typical cultural events in the district, and effectively drive the post-pandemic socio-economic recovery.
In addition to traditional rituals, many exciting activities were organised during the festival. Included were a ‘I’m narrator’ competition, a drawing contest entitled ‘I Love Da Nang’, and a festive day themed "Country fair - honoring Vietnamese goods" featuring a wide range of high-quality Vietnamese goods and typical local products produced by district-based businesses.
The annual Hai Chau Village Communal House Festival aims to preserve and transfer culture between generations, and satisfy the cultural and spiritual needs of the community. It also creates a useful playground for local people to participate in and enjoy cultural values, thereby contributing to promoting tourism images of Hai Chau District, and Da Nang as a whole.
