The first phase of the western ring road project with a section connecting National Highway 14B to Ho Chi Minh Road is ready to open to traffic on April 30.

The first phase of the Western Ring Road project has a total investment of nearly VND1,500 billion. A 19km-long road connecting National Highway 14B to Ho Chi Minh Road passes through communes of Hoa Khuong, Hoa Ninh, Hoa Phu, Hoa Phong and Hoa Lien of Hoa Vang District.

The project has a starting point at National Highway 14B in Huong Lam Village, Hoa Khuong Commune, and an ending point located at Km 19+177.30 connecting the main road of the Centralised Information Technology Park based in Hoa Lien Commune.

According to the Da Nang Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects, the investor of the project, the main route was opened to traffic on December 31, 2023. Meanwhile, the expansion of National Highway 14B will be completed within 6 months from the date of handover of the premises.

According to the investor, on January 23, 2023, the Truong Son Construction Corporation issued Document No. 251/TCT-KTKT committing to basically complete the Western Ring Road project on March 29, 2024 and complete the project on April 30, 2024.

In term of overpass over Highway 14B, the construction of the entire overpass, load-reducing box culverts, retaining walls and concrete mats leading to the overpass has been already completed.

The construction of Lam Vien and Hoi Phuoc bridges, and DT602 overpass has been already completed and opened to traffic.

The road surface has been marked, whilst the electrical system, signs, and median strips have been gradually installed.

A number of construction workers and machinery have been mobilised to complete the final items of the project including polymer plastic mats at the National Highway 14B intersection.

Many machines have been mobilized to complete the asphalting of some remaining sections

The landslide area during the floods at the end of last year, the heaviest of which was the section km5+500 - km6+780 through Hoa Phu Commune is being treated to open traffic.

To serve traffic in the immediate future, vehicles need to use the internal roads of the centralised IT Park to connect from the end of the Western Ring Road to the main traffic route.

The appearance of the city's key arterial roads is gradually taking shape, connecting transport infrastructure, contributing to the local socio-economic development.
