As part of the VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 Vietnam 2024, the Sunrise SPRINT Vietnam, a short series triathlon for beginners, and IRONKIDS Vietnam held in aquathlon and triathlon formats for children aged 5-15, officially took place at the Son Thuy Beach in Ngu Hanh Son District on Saturday morning.

Accordingly, the Sunrise SPRINT Vietnam included 750m swimming, 20km cycling, and 5km running. This was not only a race for beginners but also a preparation activity for the official triathlon race on May 12.

At recorded at 5am on the same day, the athletes gathered at the starting area. The 750m swimming competition was monitored by the rescue team. After that, the athletes continued to compete in 20km cycling and 5km running.

At 8:45 am on the same day, the aquathlon and triathlon competition for children aged 5-15 began, attracting 645 child athletes.

Mr. David George, 39, from the UK, said that "The weather in Da Nang is very hot right now, but I believe that my daughter will reach the finish line with full of desire. I'm here is to capture the moment when my daughter dares to face challenges including swimming, cycling and running. That feeling is really great!".

Nearly 3,000 triathletes from 52 countries and territories are competing in the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 Vietnam in Da Nang from May 10 - 12. The triathlon is jointly held by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports and the Sunrise Events Vietnam, an event management company.
