During his meeting with the Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Van Huu Chien on Monday, the Ambassador of Ireland to Viet Nam, Mr Damien Cole, promised to continue to boost the educational cooperation between his country and Da Nang.

The Irish diplomat said that top priority will be given to granting scholarships to local students who are involved in major training courses in public administrative management, IT, medical research and development programmes, and other aspects.  The Ambassador also pledged that his country will continue to help local disabled children in some of the local districts and communes.  In addition, he promised to create more favourable conditions for businesses from his country to seek investment opportunities in the city.

Chairman Chien said that he would like the Ambassador to call for more Irish businesses to invest in those local sectors which are seeking FDI, including tourism services, IT and hi-tech industries.

In addition, the city leader expressed his hope that Ireland would support a project for taking care of disabled people in Cam Le District, donate medical equipment to the local Cancer Hospital, and grant scholarships to local students.
