During his meeting on Wednesday with the Deputy Mayor of Sweden’s Boras City, Mr Tom Anderson, the Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, thanked the Swedish Embassy in Viet Nam for its support in accelerating his city’s environmental project, which is being funded by Sweden’s International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD). 

He also took the opportunity to call for help from international experts and organisations to make Da Nang an environmentally friendly city by 2020, as well as to treat medical waste from local hospitals and toxic garbage on local beaches.

For his part, Deputy Mayor Anderson said that during their stay in the city, his delegation would learn more about the management of garbage and wastewater in the city, and discuss effective ways of helping the city to implement environmental projects in the future.
