Indian naval ships arrive in the city
1,200 naval officers and crew members from 4 Indian naval ships are paying a friendly visit to Da Nang from 4 - 8 June.
Representatives from the Foreign Affairs Office of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence, the High Commands of the Viet Nam People’s Navy, the Zone 3 Navy, and Military Zone 5, along with those from the municipal Border Guard Headquarters, the People’s Committee, and the Department of Foreign Affairs, warmly welcomed the Indian guests.

Addressing a press conference on the ship INS Satpura, the commander of the Indian Navy's Eastern Fleet, Rear Admiral Ajit Kumar, said that the 4-day visit aims to further promote the Viet Nam-India friendship as well as enhance bilateral exchanges between their naval forces. Rear Admiral Kumar hoped that the visit would help to strengthen the bilateral ties in defence.

During their stay in the city, the Indian guests will join with officers and men from the Viet Nam People's Navy in a rescue rehearsal. In addition, they will play friendly volleyball matches against their colleagues from the Zone 3 Naval High Command.
