The 5th Congress of the Da Nang Committee for Catholic Solidarity in its 2013 – 2018 term took place in the city on Wednesday.

Over past years, the local Committee for Catholic Solidarity has played an important role in upholding the spirit of “living a gospel life in the heart of the people to serve the people’s welfare” among its believers, as well as acting as a bridge between local government and those of the Catholic faith.

The committee has also encouraged its followers to become actively involved in complying with the Party and State's guidelines and policies, as well as working with local residents for the city’s progress.

At the event, priest Nguyen Hung was re-elected as chairman of the  Committee for the 2013 – 2018 period, and he also received a Certificate of Merit from the VCCS.  In addition, 2 groups and 2 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the municipal People’s Committee.
