Laos Consul General says farewell to city leader

The Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary, Mr Tran Tho, on Tuesday played host to the Laos Consul General, Mr Vansa Launhiada, and his wife who came to bid farewell at the end of his tenure in the city.

Deputy Secretary Tho spoke highly of the great efforts made by the Laos Consul General during his tenure.  Of particular note was his work to consolidate and tighten the long-lasting traditional ties between Viet Nam and Laos, and especially between Da Nang and the Lao central and southern provinces.

The city leader said that the bilateral relationships between his city and Lao localities have been lifted to new heights through numerous cooperative projects in such aspects as economics, education, healthcare, culture, sports, and the military.  He wished Mr Vansa Launhiada every success in his new position.

The Lao Ambassador thanked the city’s leaders for their active support of the Lao Consulate over the past years.  He also gave his impressions about Da Nang's rapid growth, saying that the city really deserved the title of the most dynamic city in the central region, and the country as a whole.

He added that he believed Da Nang would gain even more socio-economic achievements in the future to make it a modern and liveable city.
