Japanese Ambassador says farewell to city leader
The Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, recently played host to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Viet Nam, Mr Yasuaki Tanizaki, who came to bid farewell at the end of his 3-year tenure in Viet Nam.
Vice Chairman Viet spoke highly of the Japanese Ambassador’s significant contributions in promoting bilateral relations between Japan and his city in business, culture, healthcare, education and other aspects during his term in Viet Nam.

The city leader said that Da Nang is now home to 92 Japanese representative offices and businesses, with a total investment capital of 370 million USD. The majority of the Japanese investment projects are focused on manufacturing pulp for export, processing agro-aquatic products, producing fishing rods and electronic components, creating software, and assembling automobiles, as well as developing restaurants, hotels and transport.
Currently, the city’s Hi-tech Park has 2 FDI projects from Japan, with a total investment capital of over 42 million USD. They are the Niwa Foundry and the Tokyo Keiki Precision Technology projects.
The city leader affirmed that the effective and accountable operation of Japanese businesses over the past years has made a significant contribution to the city's progress. He asked the Ambassador to continue his efforts to help Da Nang in his new position, as well as to appeal for more Japanese businesses to invest in the city in the future.
