Vietnamese reporters visit Chiang Mai Province

At the invitation of the Chiang Mai Province's Journalists’ Association, a delegation of Vietnamese reporters, led by the Chairman of the Da Nang Journalists' Association and Editor-in-chief of the Da Nang Newspaper, Mr Mai Duc Loc, visited Thailand from 15 - 20 August.  The visiting delegation included some representatives from the Da Nang Radio and Television Station, the Lam Dong Newspaper, the Da Nang Cong An (Police) Newspaper, the Non Nuoc (Country) Magazine, and the South Region Viet Nam Journalists' Association.

During his meeting with the Chairman of the Chiang Mai Province's Journalists’ Association, Mr Amnat Jongyotying, Mr Loc thanked his Thai colleagues for their warm welcome.  He also spoke highly of the important role of Mr Amnat Jongyotying in enhancing mutual cooperation and understanding between Viet Nam and Thai reporters, as well as those from Da Nang and Chiang Mai Province in particular.

Mr Loc hoped that the bilateral journalism cooperation between the 2 localities would be further promoted, especially when the ASEAN Community will be established in 2015.

Mr Amnat Jongyotying said that he and many Thai reporters have visited Viet Nam many times.  He added that he was very impressed with Da Nang’s rapid economic growth, and its beauty.  He stressed the need to boost bilateral friendships in journalism between Da Nang and Chiang Mai Province in the near future.

During their 5-day stay in Thailand, the Vietnamese reporters also visited the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT), which has many branches in the 8 northeastern provinces of Thailand, and the headquarters of the Thai Newspaper, the Chiang Mai Post, and other media agencies.

They also visited some popular tourist attractions in Chiang Mai Province and Bangkok City, as well as met with some senior Thai reporters.
