On Monday the Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, held a reception for the new Vietnamese Consul General in Mumbai, India, Mr Vu Son Thuy.  Mr Chien spoke highly of his guest’s opinions about the city’s development.

The city leader said he hoped that Mr Thuy would do his utmost during his period of tenure to appeal for Indian businesses who might be interested to hear about Da Nang’s investment climate, and who might invest in the local hi-tech and dedicated IT industrial parks.

Chairman Chien also asked Mr Thuy to help the Da Nang Cancer Hospital by seeking donations of medical equipment and cancer treatment medicines from Indian organisations.  In addition, he suggested that he asks for their assistance in providing training courses for the hospital’s nurses and doctors, and by sending their medical volunteers to work at the hospital.

The visiting guest highlighted 4 of the city’s strengths which he felt could be used to establish bilateral cooperations with India.  They comprised English language training and university education, marine economic development, software technology, and executive director training.
