Da Nang and Shandong Province sign MoU
On Tuesday, the Da Nang People’s Committee (PC) Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, played host to a delegation of leaders from China’s Shandong Province, led by its Deputy Governor, Mr Xie Geng.
The Deputy Governor said that he would like the bilateral understanding between Da Nang and his province to be further strengthened in aspects of the economy, trade, culture, and tourism. He promised that the Shandong authorities would continue to grant more scholarships for Da Nang’s local government employees to study in his province, as well as promote bilateral student exchange programmes.

The visiting guest also took the opportunity to invite Chairman Chien to visit Shandong Province as soon as possible, and the city leader accepted his invitation with pleasure.
Chairman Chien said that Da Nang has so far attracted 13 Chinese projects and he hopes that the bilateral cooperative relationship would be boosted in the near future.
On the same day, Da Nang and Shandong Province signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing their friendship and mutual cooperation. The signing ceremony was witnessed by the municipal PC Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, and Deputy Governor Xie.

Under the MoU, top priority will be given to promoting bilateral exchange activities in trade, investment, technology, culture, sports and education, and will especially focus on developing infrastructure, hi-tech and industrial parks. In addition, special attention will be paid to boosting bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector.
