New Laos Consul General pays courtesy visits to city leaders

During his courtesy visit on Friday afternoon to the newly-elected Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, Mr Tran Tho, the new Laos Consul General in Da Nang, Mr Phommaseng Khamsene, extended his best wishes to the leaders of the city’s authorities and to local residents on the occasion of their upcoming National Day (2 September).  He also expressed his desire that local departments and agencies would continue to help his consulate take the bilateral friendly relationships between Da Nang and his country’s localities to new levels, as well as strengthen the bilateral special and long-lasting relationship between Viet Nam and Laos in the future.

New Secretary Tho congratulated the Laos diplomat on his new position, and wished him every success in fulfilling his new tasks during his tenure in the city.  He also expressed his belief that the bilateral cooperative relationship between his city and the southern provinces of Laos would be expanded.

During his reception on the same day for the new Consul General, the Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Mr Van Huu Chien, highlighted the fruitful results from the bilateral cooperative programmes which focus on education, healthcare and agriculture, as well as the exchange visits by high-ranking officials between his city and the southern provinces of Laos. 

The city leader also spoke highly of the great efforts by the Laos Consulate in Da Nang in promoting the bilateral cooperative ties between his city and Lao localities.  He also asked his guest to join efforts with his city’s authorities to promote foreign affairs, as well as to develop further the Da Nang-Laos relationships.
