Politburo Directive No 22-CT/TW reviewed
At a meeting held in Da Nang on 6 and 7 September, the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour reviewed the implementation of the Politburo Directive No 22-CT/TW, which concerns the development of harmonious, stable and progressive labour relations within enterprises. They also reviewed the improved quality of the labour collective bargaining agreement over the past 5 years.
During the period, the implementation of the directive made a significant contribution within enterprises nationwide. Most notably, 70% of domestic businesses had signed collective bargaining agreements with trade unions for their employees.
In addition, over 14,000 law bookcases and thousands of related documents have been provided to educate workers at all-levels about the legal regulations. About 5,000 labour self-management groups have been set up over the period to ensure the nation’s political security and harmonious labour relations within their businesses.
Moreover, hundreds of billions of VND has been raised by the Trade Union Charity funds at all levels to repair and build houses for employees living in difficult circumstances.
To date, 387 of 526 Da Nang’s businesses have entered into labour collective bargaining agreement for their employees, accounting for 73% of the total number of local businesses.
In the future, top priority will be given to improving the living conditions of trade union members and workers nationwide, and protecting their legal labour rights. The focus will be on encouraging them to strictly comply with the Party's policies and the State's laws, as well as enhancing the operation of trade union organisations and their staff across the country.
