A meeting to review Da Nang’s actions in response to the All-People’s National Defence Day (December 22) over the 2009 - 2013 period took place in the city on Thursday.

During the review period, the city’s Border Guard has worked closely with the city’s authorities and relevant agencies to raise public awareness about the Law on National Borders and this Day.  Special attention has also been paid to encouraging local residents to join their efforts to protect the nation's legitimate sovereignty over its seas and islands.

The municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, addressed the event.  He stressed the need for local relevant agencies, especially the Border Guard, to raise awareness among local residents, party members and government officials of the Party and State’s policies - in particular, those relating to national sovereignty and sovereign rights over seas and islands.  He also asked the city’s relevant agencies and armed forces to join efforts to fulfil their assigned tasks in protecting the national sea boundary and its waters.
