British warship HMS Daring leaves the city
A press conference was held in the city on Saturday at the end of the friendly visit to Da Nang by the British warship HMS Daring from 18 to 21 December. The purpose was to review the activities of its crew during their stay. The event was co-chaired by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UK to Viet Nam, Dr Antony Stokes, Group Captain Tim Below of the Royal Air Force, and the Commanding Officer of HMS Daring, Angus Essenhigh.
Lieutenant-Colonel Essenhigh took the opportunity to thank the local authorities and residents for their warm welcome. He said that the crew would return home with unforgettable memories of Da Nang, and Viet Nam in general.

During their 4-day stay in Da Nang, the warship’s crew members were involved in a wide range of cultural activities, and they visited some tourist attractions in the city. Their visit helped to enhance Viet Nam-UK ties, and marked the 40th anniversary of Viet Nam-UK diplomatic relations.
