Da Nang wants to enhance bilateral ties with Guangdong Province

On Tuesday afternoon, the Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, played host to a group of leaders and businesspeople from China’s Guangdong Province, led by its Deputy Governor, Ms Zhao Yu Fang.

Vice Chairman Viet said that his city is making every effort to reach its target of becoming an environmentally-friendly and liveable city, with a focus on promoting the development of the tourism, trade, services, and banking and finance sectors, as well as hi-tech industries.  He added that, taking advantage of being the Pacific gateway for the East-West Economic Corridor, its favourable geographical position, and its synchronous infrastructure, Da Nang is striving to become the most dynamic city in the central region.

The city leader said that his city wants to enhance the bilateral cooperation with Guangdong Province in trade, tourism, services and other aspects.  He asked the Deputy Governor to do her utmost to promote the opening of direct flights between Da Nang and Guangdong Province, and other localities in China, as soon as possible.

The city leader vowed that the local authorities would create favourable conditions for Chinese businesses to seek investment opportunities in his city.  He also expressed his hope that the visit by Guangdong’s guests would help to bolster their bilateral ties.
