Russian Constitution Day celebrated in the city

The Consulate General of Russia in Da Nang hosted a party on Monday evening to celebrate the Russian Constitution Day (12 December).  In attendance were the municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, and some representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs, the city branch of the Viet Nam-Russia Friendship Association, the Laos Consulate General, and other organisations in Da Nang.

Speaking at the event, the Russian Consul General in Da Nang, Mr Valentin M Dikushin, highlighted the historical significance of the Russian constitution, which was accepted through referendum 20 years ago.

The diplomat remarked that the constitution of Russia has helped to establish strong legal pillars of the state, as well as provide the freedom necessary for the dynamic development of Russia.  He also said that it has contributed significantly to accelerating his country's international integration while safeguarding national interests.

Over the past 20 years, Russia has overcome its numerous difficulties and promoted its sustainable development.  This has made a significant contribution to improving the country’s economy, reinforcing its national defence, building its good reputation in international markets, and expanding numerous relationships in various aspects with many countries worldwide.
