On Thursday, the Da Nang Party Committee Secretary, Mr Tran Tho, met with members of the Thai Phien Club for the city’s senior citizens.

Secretary Tho congratulated the club members on their longevity, and wished them all a happy and healthy Tet Festival.  He said he hopes that the members will live longer to witness positive changes in the socio-economic development of the city and the country as a whole.

The city leader also remarked that Da Nang will continue to face many difficulties and challenges in 2014.  Therefore, the city will pay special attention to reaching its targets of successfully fulfilling this year’s socio-economic development tasks, ensuring security and defence, and maintaining social order and security.  These will create a new impetus for promoting the city's progress over the following years.

He also encouraged the club members to join efforts with local authorities and residents to promote the city’s development, and make Da Nang a modern, dynamic and liveable city.
