On Monday afternoon, the Da Nang Party Committee Secretary, Mr Tran Tho, played host to the newly-appointed US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms Rena Bitter.

The US diplomat said that she was deeply impressed by the dynamic growth and modern development of Da Nang.  Thanks to this, Da Nang deserves the title of the most dynamic city in the central region and highlands, she added.

Ms Bitter also spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between her country and Da Nang, especially in such aspects as education, healthcare, trade, and investment.

Secretary Tho applauded her visit and hoped that she would do her utmost to boost bilateral cooperation in the above-mentioned aspects during her tenure.

The city leader said that he would like the US diplomat to make every effort to promote even more cooperative relationships between his city and US localities in the future.
