Public consensus – momentum for building a liveable city

A get-together for 5,822 leaders of residential groups and villages, along with over 2,440 secretaries of Party cells and heads of local Fatherland Front organisations across Da Nang, took place at the Tien Son Sports Arena on Wednesday. 

Addressing the event, the municipal Party Committee (PC) Secretary, Mr Tran Tho, highlighted the consensus among local residents.  He said he hoped that it would be furthered in order to create a momentum for building a liveable city.

The city leader stressed the need to better implement the 4 key goals mentioned in the PC’s latest Directive.  He took the opportunity to appeal for local authorities and residents to try to ensure sustainable economic growth, political security, social order, a healthy environment, and being friendly people.

Last year, 4,826 of the city’s residential groups and villages met the criteria for the city’s “No Criminals or Social Evils in Residential Areas” model.  4,710 groups successfully implemented the city’s “Ensuring Social Safety and Security” model.

Also at the event, 14 secretaries of Party cells and heads of local Fatherland Front organisations, along with 150 leaders of residential groups and villages, were awarded Certificates of Merit from the municipal People’s Committee in recognition of their remarkable achievements in strengthening the local political system and the government at grass-roots levels.
