The Consulate General of Russia in Da Nang hosted a party on Monday evening to celebrate the Russian Diplomats’ Day (10 February).  In attendance were the municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, the Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee, Mr Nguyen Manh Hung, and some representatives from the Union of Friendship Organisations, and the city branch of the Viet Nam-Russia Friendship Association.

Speaking at the event, the Russian Consul General in Da Nang, Mr Valentin M Dikushin, briefed his guests on the history and significant achievements of the Russian diplomacy over the past 200 years.  He affirmed that his country’s foreign affairs activities had made an active contribution to boosting its development progress, as well as ensuring security and peace all over the world.  This helped Russia to strengthen its position in the international arena.

The Russian diplomat also spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between Da Nang and some localities in his country.  This has made a significant contribution to maintaining and strengthening a bilateral traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Viet Nam for mutual benefits.
