During his meeting with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Secretary of the Da Nang’s Party Committee, Mr Tran Tho, said that the city has made relatively comprehensive achievements over recent years.  This is mainly attributable to the great efforts made by the city’s authorities and local residents.

Secretary Tho added that Da Nang’s sustainable economic growth, and its budget collection which has exceeded targets, has enabled the city to effectively implement its social welfare policies.  The focus has been on providing job opportunities for locals, ensuring poverty reduction, supporting social policy beneficiaries, and improving the living conditions of local residents.

In an effort to reach its socio-economic growth targets, the city has identified solutions to support local businesses by implementing the “Year for Business” programme for 2014 and for future years.  The city will also do its utmost to ensure a synchronous and rapid development of its urban infrastructure, with a focus on instituting 10 key large-scale projects during this year.  In addition, special attention has been paid to improving the city’s cultural development in combination with socio-economic growth.

Top focus has been on accelerating the implementation of the city’s High-quality Human Resources Development Project to attract even more qualified employees to the city.  Furthermore, priority has been given to enhancing local administrative reform, as well as to promoting the role of the city’s Fatherland Front Committee and relevant agencies to boost solidarity among local residents.

General Secretary Trong remarked that Da Nang has witnessed rapid and comprehensive socio-economic development over recent years.  He added that the image of the city has been promoted and highly appreciated both at home and abroad.  In addition, the national leader expressed his belief that Da Nang would fulfil local industrialisation and modernisation goals beyond its set targets.
