Hoang Sa exhibition opens at university
An exhibition entitled “Hoang Sa (Paracel) Archipelago - an Integral Part of Viet Nam’s Territory” is running until 29 March at the Dong A University for the teaching staff and students. The event has being jointly organised by the university, the Museum of Da Nang, the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs, and the Hoang Sa Island District People’s Committee.
On display are a total of 70 valuable artifacts, historic maps and documents relating to Viet Nam’s legitimate sovereignty over the archipelago. At the opening ceremony, thousands of the university’s teaching staff members and students were very eager to learn about the Vietnamese cultural and historical values, and the legal evidence which firmly proves Viet Nam’s legitimate claims. Some of them were deeply impressed by the images and documents which all prove the national sovereignty over the archipelago over various historical periods.

To mark the occasion, the Dong A University presented a sand picture depicting a map of Viet Nam to the Museum of Da Nang. This unique picture was made by the university’s students over 15 days, and it shows their ardent patriotism and awareness of the country’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
