UK Ambassador visits Da Nang
The Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Vo Duy Khuong, recently played host to the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Viet Nam, Dr Antony Stokes.
Ambassador Stokes said that he was very impressed with the city’s rapid economic growth over recent years. He added that his country is willing to co-operate with the city in various aspects such as education, health care, trade and investment. He also expressed his belief that this bilateral cooperation would bring significant benefits to his country and Da Nang.

The visiting guest said that the UK would boost bilateral cooperation and investment in the city in the near future. Special attention will be paid to promoting the establishment of the UK-Viet Nam University in the city, and to increasing the number of scholarships for Vietnamese students to study in the UK.
Vice Chairman Khuong thanked the UK and its non-profit organisations for their great support for his city over the past years. He said that Da Nang and the country’s localities have great potential for cooperation in various aspects.
The city leader said that he would like the British Ambassador to do his utmost to appeal for even more British businesses to invest in the city, especially to be involved in humanitarian and charitable works.
