Some of Da Nang’s leaders and representatives of local agencies and departments recently visited and extended their greetings to the Laos Consulate General staff in the city on the occasion of their traditional Bunpimay New Year festival.  They were hosted by the Laotian Consul General, Mr Phommaseng Khamsene.

On behalf of the city leaders, the municipal People’s Committee Chairman, Mr Van Huu Chien, extended his best wishes to the Laotian staff.  He expressed his delight at the fine development of the bilateral cooperation between his city and Laotian localities.  This cooperation includes politics, security and defence, the economy, education, culture and sports.

Mr Chien said that in recent years there have been positive results from the cooperative programmes between Da Nang and the southern provinces of Laos.  He added that this has helped to promote the socio-economic development of Laos, and tighten the traditional bilateral relationships.
