On Tuesday, the Vice Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh, hosted a reception for the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Singaporean Embassy in Ha Noi, Mr Raymond Chow.

Vice Chairman Anh remarked that Singapore has been a good example for Da Nang to follow over the recent years of city progress.  He added that the city and Singapore share many similarities in development strategies.  In particular, both have given top priority to the development of tourism, services, high-tech industries, healthcare, high-quality education, and environmental protection.

The host also took the opportunity to ask the Singaporean diplomat to do his utmost to promote even more exchange activities as well as expand bilateral cooperation in those sectors in which the two countries have the greatest potential.  These include tourism, education, healthcare, high-tech industries, trade and investment.

At the reception, Vice Chairman Anh highly appreciated Singapore’s advanced education sector which has assisted in the training of a number of Da Nang’s government officials and employees in recent years.  This has made a significant contribution to the city’s rapid growth.  Mr Anh also vowed that the local authorities would create even more favourable conditions and ensure an open and safe mechanism for foreign businesses, especially those from Singapore.  This will allow them to invest and operate effectively in the city over the long term.
