Vice Chairman Viet extends condolences to Laos over plane crash
On Monday afternoon, on behalf of Da Nang’s city leaders, the Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr Phung Tan Viet, went to the Laos Consulate General in the city to pay tribute to those who died in a recent plane accident. The military plane, which was carrying some Laotian senior government officials, crashed in Lao’s Xiangkhouang Province on 17 May.
Vice Chairman Viet laid wreaths and offered incense to the deceased. Recording his thoughts in the funeral guest book, he conveyed deepest condolences to the Party, the government and the people of Laos over the incident. He affirmed that the passing of some Laotian high-ranking officials is a great loss to Laos. He also expressed his belief that the Laos leaders will soon overcome their deep sorrow and carry on with their great efforts to accelerate the country’s development to new heights in the future.
Earlier, some representatives of the Da Nang Military Command, the municipal Border Guard High Command, and the city’s Department of Education and Training had been to the Laos Consulate General to extend deep sympathy to the government and people of Laos over the incident.
