President Sang welcomes new ambassadors
State President Truong Tan Sang met with the new ambassadors of the Republic of Sierra Leone, the Republic of Iceland, the Republic of Tunisia, the United Republic of Tanzania, the Republic of Guatemala, the Republic of Gruzia, and the Republic of Mali who presented their credentials in Ha Noi on September 17.

President Sang congratulated Sierra Leone Ambassador Vicktor Bockarie Foh; Icelandic Ambassador Stefan Skjaldarson; Tunisian Ambassador Tarel Amri; Tanzanian Ambassador Abduhrahaman Amiri Shimbo; Guatemalan Ambassador Gustavo A. Lopez Calderon; Gruzian Ambassador David Aptsiauri; and Mali Ambassador Lansina Buah Kone on their new roles as ambassadors to Viet Nam.
Greeting the newly appointed ambassadors, President Sang affirmed that Viet Nam would create conditions for the new ambassadors to accomplish their duties in Viet Nam and said he hoped the new ambassadors’ governments would back Viet Nam’s candidacies for the UNESCO Executive Council 2015-2019, the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) 2016-2018, and the UN Security Council 2020-2021, as well as recognising Vietnam’s full market economy status.
On their parts, the new ambassadors expressed their delight at being appointed ambassadors to Viet Nam and pledged to do their utmost to foster political and economic ties with Viet Nam.
