At the recent 4^th Congress of the Da Nang Peace Committee in the 2014 - 2019 tenure, the Chairman of the city’s Fatherland Front Committee, Mr Nguyen Manh Hung, was elected Chairman of the city’s branch of the Viet Nam Peace Committee.

Over the 2009 - 2014 tenure, the municipal Peace Committee became actively involved in encouraging Vietnamese people from both home and abroad to join efforts with the Committee to build a world of peace, stability and sustainable development.

The Peace Committee’s major activities aim to promote bilateral friendship, solidarity and mutual understanding between Da Nang and other foreign countries around the world.  In addition, importance is always attached to expanding the international network of peace-loving forces, and appealing for more non-governmental aid.
