Enhancing bilateral cooperation in education with Queensland
On Monday morning, the Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Huynh Duc Tho, warmly received the Minister for Education, Training and Employment of Queensland State in Australia, Mr John-Paul Langbroek MP.
Minister Langbroek remarked that the purpose of his visit was to boost the bilateral educational cooperation between senior high schools and universities in his locality and those in Da Nang, as well as to implement short-term cooperation programmes between the two localities. He said that top priority would be given to organising exchange programmes of teaching staff and pupils between the senior high schools. He noted that Da Nang and Queensland State have great potential for cooperation in various aspects such as high-quality human resource training, tourism, information technology, vocational training, and culture.

In reply, Vice Chairman Tho expressed his delight at the fine development of the bilateral educational cooperation between his city and Queensland State. He said that over 160 city authority employees have been sent to Australia for study, accounting for 50% of the city’s total employees studying abroad. He added that Da Nang receives a great deal of financial assistance from the Australian government every year.
The city leader said that Da Nang is willing to further strengthen the bilateral ties with Queensland State in various aspects, especially education.
