The Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, recently received the former Japanese Senator and Secretary of State, Mr Matsuda Iwao.

Vice Chairman Viet briefed his guest on Da Nang’s remarkable achievements over recent years, as well as local aspects seeking investment such as industry, tourism and vocational training.  He also took the opportunity to appeal for more Japanese businesses to invest in a special industrial zone for Vietnamese and Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises, a Japanese-standard hi-end holiday resort for the elderly, and other projects.

The city leader remarked that Da Nang is in need of help from Japanese senior high-ranking experts to promote the city’s socio-economic development in the immediate future.

Mr Matsuda said that apart from ODA capital, his government is willing to provide more assistance for Da Nang, with a focus on sending Japanese high-ranking experts to the city and training local high-quality human resources.
