The 4^th Congress of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations (DAFO) in the 2014 - 2019 tenure will take place on 28 and 29 October.

The event will focus on evaluating the results from the DAFO’s people-to-people exchange activities over the 2009 - 2014 period.  In particular, people-to-people exchanges which have been carried out by the municipal Fatherland Front Committee, local districts, departments and agencies will be reviewed. 

In addition, the roles of the DAFO and its member organisations in promoting relations with their partners and international friends will be assessed, and their remarkable contributions to the city’s progress over the past 5 years will be highlighted.

Also at the event, there will be discussions about ensuring close links amongst the Party’s foreign affairs, the State’s diplomatic policies and people-to-people exchanges.  The efficiency of non-governmental aids in implementing local social welfare programmes will also be assessed.  Additionally, ways to improve the professional skills and qualifications of local government employees involved in people-to-people exchanges will be identified.
