On Monday afternoon, the Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr Van Huu Chien, played host to the Swiss Ambassador to Viet Nam, Mr Andrej Motyl.

Chairman Chien said that Da Nang has yet to establish friendly and cooperative relationships with any Swiss localities, adding that to date there have not been any Swiss businesses investing in the city.  Therefore, he asked the diplomat to appeal for Swiss businesses to seek investment opportunities in the city in the near future.

Mr Motyl thanked the city leader for his warm welcome, and expressed his favourable impression of the city’s rapid growth and its high positions in the annual Provincial Competitiveness Index rankings over recent years.  He remarked that the index plays an important role in attracting businesses from foreign countries, including those from Switzerland, to invest in the city.  He also vowed that his country is willing to develop bilateral cooperation with Da Nang in tourism, exports, high-quality human resource training, and green technology sectors in the near future.
