Published: November 26, 2014

On Tuesday morning, the Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee, Mr Vo Cong Tri, played host to a group from Japan’s Nagasaki University, led by its Rector Mr Hiromichi Ota.

Deputy Secretary Tri spoke highly of the fruitful cooperation between the Nagasaki University and the University of Da Nang over recent years.  The 2 universities have already made preparations for entering into a bilateral cooperation agreement.  In addition, some Japanese students have already been sent to Da Nang to benefit from apprenticeship programmes in Japanese businesses operating here.

The host also remarked that some local government officials will be sent to train in Nagasaki Prefecture next year.  He said he hoped that the bilateral cooperation between the 2 universities in particular, as well as between Da Nang and Nagasaki in general, would produce more remarkable achievements in the years ahead.

In reply, Rector Hiromichi thanked the Da Nang leaders for having assisted the Japanese students during their apprenticeship programmes in the city.  He asked that the local government continue to provide support for upcoming apprenticeship programmes for Japanese students.  The Japanese visitor also affirmed that these programmes will help to promote the bilateral cultural exchange between the 2 localities.  In addition, he said that Nagasaki Prefecture will boost bilateral cooperation in high-quality human resource development in the near future, especially because Da Nang has an abundance of young human resources.
