Myanmar celebrates 67th Independence Day in Viet Nam
The Myanmar Embassy in Ha Noi recently hosted a banquet at the Melia Hotel to commemorate the 67th anniversary of Myanmar’s Independence Day (1948-2015).
Speaking at the event, Myanmar Ambassador to Viet Nam Win Hlaing expressed his belief that the ties between Viet Nam and Myanmar have continued to blossom since they were established in 1975.
He expressed his hope that they would further evolve to new heights in the future meeting the interests of both nations for peace and prosperity in the region and the world.
In 2014, two-way trade between Viet Nam and Myanmar expanded by 35% on-year to US$475 million. The figure is expected to reach US$500 million in 2015.
Viet Nam is now the 8th largest investor in Myanmar with US$513 million invested in 7 projects.
