Prime Minister warmly receives Thai Deputy PM, Defence Minister
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung welcomed General Prawit Wongsuwon, Thai Deputy PM and Defence Minister, in Ha Noi on January 14, during which he iterated Viet Nam’s wish for a stable and growing future for Thailand.

The PM expressed his delight at the development of the two countries’ friendly relationship and strategic partnership, saying that the guest’s visit to Viet Nam on this occasion will help to further deepen the bilateral ties.
Viet Nam wants to work with Thailand to implement collaborative programmes towards their strategic partnership and their common development, for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the ASEAN region and around the world, he added.
The Vietnamese Government leader also called for increased efforts to step up cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, and transport.
He affirmed that the Government welcomes and creates favourable conditions for Thai investors to conduct long-term business in Viet Nam, and encouraged accelerating negotiations on a memorandum of understanding of labour cooperation.
Concurring with the host’s proposals, Prawit Wongsuwon shared that during his visit, both sides discussed numerous measures to boost bilateral ties, especially in national defence.
He agreed to tighten cooperation in various fields and at regional and international forums.
