A delegation of leaders from the province of Attapeu in Laos, led by its Deputy Governor, Ms Vatsadi Khotnhotha, visited the Da Nang Party Committee (PC) on Wednesday afternoon to extend Tet greetings to its leaders and staff.

The Deputy Secretary of the municipal PC, Mr Vo Cong Tri, thanked his Laotian guests for their visit to the Committee on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (3 February).  Mr Tri remarked that the visit would help to strengthen the traditional special friendship between Viet Nam and Laos, as well as bring the bilateral ties between Da Nang and Attapeu Province to new heights.

The city leader also highlighted that the cooperative programmes between his city and five southern provinces of Laos have brought remarkable achievements over recent years.  In particular, Da Nang has granted scholarships to many Laotian students to study at universities in the city.

Many bilateral trade and investment cooperation programmes have also been promoted over recent years, which has helped to bring two-way import-export turnover between the two localities to around 4 million USD per year.

Deputy Secretary Tri expressed his hope for more bilateral cooperation in the years ahead to fully tap the great potentials and strengths in the two localities.
