City leader visits Consulate General of Russia
Last Friday, a delegation of Da Nang’s leaders, led by municipal People’s Committee (PC) Vice Chairman Phung Tan Viet, visited the the city’s Consulate General of Russia on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Viet Nam and Russia diplomatic ties (30 January).
On behalf of the city leaders, Vice Chairman Viet thanked the former Soviet Union and the Russian government for their significant assistance to Viet Nam, and to Da Nang especially, over the past 65 years.
In particular, the establishment of the Consulate General of Russia in Da Nang has helped to deepen the bilateral relationship between the 2 countries.

Over recent years, the Consulate has worked hard to assist Da Nang, and the central region and highlands as a whole, in attracting many Russian businesses and visitors.
Most notably, cooperative ties between Da Nang and some Russian localities have been fruitful and are being constantly strengthened.
In reply, the Russian Consul General, Mr Valentin M Dikushin, expressed his gratitude to the city leaders for their kind care for his organisation’s activities in the city over recent years.
He also remarked that, under the leadership of the Party and the municipal authorities, Da Nang has developed into a modern and prosperous city which is growing rapidly.
Mr Dikushin also took the opportunity to extend his best wishes to municipal Party Committee Secretary Tran Tho and the newly-appointed PC Chairman Huynh Duc Tho.
In the evening of the same day, the Consulate General of Russia in Da Nang hosted a party to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between the 2 countries.
