Reinforcing bilateral cooperation with Kunming City
Last Friday afternoon, the Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Phung Tan Viet, played host to a group of leaders from China’s Kunming City, led by its mayor, Mr Li Wenrong.
Vice Chairman Viet applauded the visit by the Chinese guests and spoke highly of the fruitful results from the bilateral tourism cooperation between Da Nang and some Chinese localities over recent years.
The host said he hopes that the bilateral cooperation with Kunming City in trade, tourism and services would be strengthened and gain more remarkable achievements in the years ahead. He also vowed that the local authorities would create even more favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from China, to allow them to invest and operate effectively in the city.

In reply, Mayor Li thanked the city leader for his warm welcome, and said that he was very impressed by the city’s rapid growth. He remarked that his city and Da Nang shared many similarities in their orientations for the development of tourism and modern traffic infrastructure. This would help to deepen the bilateral cooperation in various aspects, including seafood exports and cultural exchange activities.
The Chinese guest also took the opportunity to extend an invitation to Da Nang’s leaders to attend the China-South Asia Expo which will be held in his city in June 2016.
Also at the meeting, representatives from Da Nang and Kunming City signed an agreement on establishing friendly relationships and cooperation in order to further promote the cooperative relationship, friendship and mutual understanding between the people of Da Nang and China.
