Umakhanov said the parliamentary partnership between the two countries is growing and the Russia delegation is preparing for the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132) in Ha Noi later this month.

He expressed hope that the joint working group for the cooperation between the two law-making bodies will expand operation, proposing more meetings between their committees to monitor the implementation of signed agreements.

Ambassador Son affirmed that developing ties with Russia is a priority of Viet Nam’s foreign policy, noting outcomes achieved in the fields of economy, education, and defence.

Viet Nam is considering a series of possibilities of affiliating with the Eurasian Economic Union, taking the partnership as a great opportunity for not only Viet Nam but the whole Southeast Asia region.

He also suggested a number of orientations to assist the Vietnamese community in integrating deeply into the host country society.
