Commanders from Japan's ship Yashima pay courtesy visit to city leaders

During his reception on Tuesday for a group of commanders from the Japan Coast Guard patrol ship Yashima, led by Coast Guard Superintendent Akihiro Hirano, Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Phung Tan Viet highlighted the city’s important strategic position for the socio-economic development, national defence and security of the central region and highlands.

Vice Chairman Viet said that Da Nang has established bilateral friendships and multi-faceted cooperation, especially economically, with Japanese localities over many years.

The host also took the opportunity to thank the ship’s crew members for their visits and experience exchanges in combating piracy and practising search and rescue training activities at sea over the past years.

In reply, Superintendent Akihiro Hirano expressed his hope that the bilateral relationships and comprehensive cooperation in various fields would be further promoted in the years ahead.
