Viet Nam, Myanmar celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations

A ceremony marking the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and Myanmar was held in Ha Noi on May 27.

Addressing the event, Chairman of the Viet Nam-Myanmar Friendship Association Chu Cong Phung gave the participants an overview of the friendship between the two countries over the past 40 years.

He added that both sides have enjoyed remarkable outcomes in a wide range of fields, including politics, the economy, trade and culture, since the establishment of diplomatic ties in on May 28, 1975.

The Ambassador of Myanmar to Viet Nam Win Hlaing stated that the two countries have nurtured their traditional friendship and efficient cooperation over the past 40 years.

He also hailed Viet Nam’s efforts in strengthening bilateral relations through the establishment of the Viet Nam-Myanmar Friendship Association.
