DA NANG Today
Published: June 24, 2015

A conference on transnational terrorism prevention and control is taking place in Da Nang between 23 and 25 June.

Jointly organised by the Ministry of Public Security and the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol), the event is being attended by representatives from police forces and intelligence agencies in Australia, the UK, Brunei, Thailand, South Korea and other countries.

Discussions are focussing on new terrorist threats in the Asia-Pacific region and the tools and services from Interpol which can support the fight against transnational terrorism.  The issues of international wanted notices and monitoring cross-border activities are also being discussed, as are other issues of concern including the booming trend of using improvised explosive devices, the increasing number of foreign terrorists, and the problems relating to cyber terrorism.
