During the 13^th extraordinary session of the Da Nang People's Council (PC) in its 8^th tenure for the 2011 - 2016 term on Wednesday morning, the former Secretary of the Hai Chau District Party Committee, Mr Dang Viet Dung, was promoted to the position of municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman for the 2011 - 2016 term.

Newly-appointed Vice Chairman Dung was born on 28 February 1960 in Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang.  He gained his high-level degree in Political Theory and possesses a PhD in technology, a Masters Degree in irrigation, and a Bachelor Degree in moto road engineering.

At the event, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Tran Tho took the opportunity to congratulate Vice Chairman Dung on his promotion.  Mr Tho also asked the local authorities to exert every effort in the remaining months of the year to exceed the year's key targets in socio-economic development as set by the municipal PC. 

Secretary Tho also urged local PC members to increase their checks and monitoring activities in the city, and listen to the aspirations of local residents in order to give a timely response to urgent issues raised by local voters.
